So last night, November 6th, I went to see The Used at the House of Blues with my best friend Cece and her sister Emma. We got there pretty early so we were in the top…50 in the line? I don’t know, something like that. We got in, and Emma and Cece got front row seats in the balcony. Best spots possible. I bought those cards that let you automatically meet the band after the show, and met them up there. (I also saw Brandy, Amber, Michelle, and Anthony!) Drive A was pretty okay, and The Almost was really energetic and good live! While we were waiting for The Used to set up some chick and her meat head boyfriend come up to us and say, “These are our seats. We paid for these.” So I said, “No…they’re allllll general admission, we all paid the same.” So she said, “Well our tickets say that we’re sitting here, and we paid for these seats, so you guys need to get up NOW.” So we hopped up a row no big deal. OH MY GOODNESS THE USED’S SET WAS SO AMAZING. And Bert called out to the asshats in front of us who were sitting down the whole time. We were constantly obnoxiously laughing close to them, and coughing, and just being as obnoxious as humanly possible. Sorry if you were near us and we annoyed you. So they finally stand up, and the meat head boyfriend just takes their drinks and dumps them into the crowd below. Already fed up with these two, I spat all over their seats, and then all over their necks. it felt pretty damn good. I spat into the crowd (asshole), then I spewed spit onto meat head’s neck, again and again and again. He fucking deserved it. So after screaming our lungs until they wouldn’t work anymore and almost throwing up from screaming (now I know why Bert used to always puke), and then crying whenever they played certain songs, we chilled by the merch table to wait for The Used. They took us back up the elevator, and we went in 5 at a time. THEY DIDN’T ALLOW PICTURES. >:( They all signed my ticket and it was very impersonal. >:( But I seriously was about to pass out in their arms. You have no idea how much I love this band. I’ve waited since I was TWELVE YEARS OLD to see this band live! THAT’S FIVE YEARS! FIVE! I’m so glad I got to meet them. And I certainly will meet them again. And I will get a picture.
About their set list:
They started out with Blood On My Hands, of course. Then they played their set la de da, and then Bert and Quinn came out and played On My Own. Just Quinn and his acoustic, with Bert singing. It was beautiful. (Did you know Blue & Yellow is about their relationship? They had a “thing” earlier on.) And then the whole band came out and played BOX OF SHARP OBJECTS!#(*^%!(#^(!*@ Awesome song to close with. And at one point Bert parted the crowd and made everyone put up horns. I can’t remember what song it was to, but once they started playing everyone ran towards each other aka THE WALL OF DEATH! :D :D :D It was rad.

Damn right.Yesterday, it was late and I was heading to my car in the parking lot after work and three young guys come up to me and start talking. I was scared, until one draped his arm around me and silently showed me a text on his phone, telling me there was a dodgy guy following me and that they would make sure I got to my car safely. Their kindness GMH.
